What is an IP address?
An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique numerical identifier assigned to every device connected to the internet. Why does visip.no show a different IP than what I see at home?
Your public IP address is assigned by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and represents your entire home network to the outside world. Your private IP address (e.g. 192.168.x.x) is only used internally within your local network. visip.no displays your public IP, which is what the rest of the internet sees.
